I am pleased to announce an added upcoming seminar on Sunday March 9. 2025, at the West Islip Library. Library doors open at 1pm, seminar to start 1:30 pm.

We have two speakers with very accomplished resumes presenting on the subjects of First Aid and Safety for sailors on shore and off shore, and Vessel Incident Survival which encompasses preparedness for boaters living on board in emergencies. Our speakers are Barry Lipsky, and Deke Jamison who have donated their time for this presentation.

Barry Lipsky is an accomplished advanced scuba instructor for Police, Fire Departments and Military personnel, Ski Patroller, Ski Instructor, Captain of Bayport Fire Department Water Rescue, and First Responder.

Deke Jamison has been sailing his entire life, grew up sailing and racing on Long Island. He has offshore experience and currently sails a 50′ Beneteau Oceanis, which he spends time living aboard in the Caribbean. He is also a long time Ski Patroller and Outdoor Emergency Care Instructor, and spent his summers as a teenager as a life guard on Long Island.
